Why does a trust keynote need an AI angle in 2027?

AI made polished communication free, and audiences noticed. A warm, personalized note takes seconds to generate and a gorgeous deck comes from a template, so the smooth signals that used to earn belief now set off alarms. As Henna puts it in The Signal Gap: polish got cheap, so polish got suspicious.

People have also shifted who they believe. In Edelman’s 2025 Trust Barometer Flash Poll on trust and AI (5,000 respondents across five countries), “someone like me” was on average two times more trusted than a CEO or government leader to tell the truth about AI. In Germany, the UK, and the U.S., two-thirds or more said business leaders potentially won’t be fully honest with employees about AI’s impact on jobs.

The leadership gap is measurable. In the 2026 Edelman Trust Barometer (33,938 respondents in 28 countries), 73% said CEOs are obligated to help build trust between groups who distrust each other, but only 44% said CEOs are doing it well – a 29-point gap between what people expect from leaders and what they see.

What framework does the keynote teach?

The signal gap keynote is built on the central idea of Henna’s book: the signal gap, the distance between the message you intended to send and the one your audience actually received. In what Henna calls the Verification Era, a culture that verifies before it trusts, small mismatches between what you say, mean, and do get spotted fast, and they cost believability that’s hard to earn back.

Mind the (Signal) Gap gives audiences two moves. First, disarm the skepticism in the room before delivering the message. Then align the four layers of congruence – Communication, Belief, Context, and Character – so the message holds up under whatever scrutiny it meets afterward.

Henna’s own research shows how little cushion most teams have. In her national study on Social Muscle Atrophy, fielded by The Center for Generational Kinetics with 750 U.S. workers, 44% described their workplace relationships as “superficial” – and when relationships are that thin, there’s very little goodwill to absorb a mixed signal.

Why book Henna Pryor?

Henna Pryor is a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) and 2x TEDx speaker who helps teams close the gap between being competent and being believed – the hidden tax of a skeptical, AI-saturated workplace. A workplace performance expert, Inc. columnist, and LinkedIn Learning instructor, she draws on two decades in executive search and corporate performance to help audiences build believability, influence, and social fitness at work. She is the author of Good Awkward and The Signal Gap, and turns everyday doubt into trust that travels.

She is a CSP! The Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation is an international credential awarded by the National Speakers Association. Less than 17% of speakers worldwide hold this designation, which recognizes proven expertise, professionalism, and a track record of excellence. For event planners, hiring a CSP means hiring a speaker who is highly skilled, reliable, and consistently delivers high-impact presentations.

What will my audience be able to do after the keynote?

The keynote gives audiences a working system for being believed, not just being right. Attendees learn why competence quietly stops translating into trust, how skepticism actually forms in a room, and the specific, repeatable moves that close the signal gap – the human signals that survive an era when words are cheap and doubt is the default setting.

It lands because Henna has the receipts and the range. She is a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), a 2x TEDx speaker, an Inc. columnist, a LinkedIn Learning instructor, and the author of Good Awkward. Audiences leave with research-backed tools delivered with the warmth and candor of a sharp friend who happens to have done the homework.

After this keynote, your audience will be able to:

  • Spot where competence quietly stops translating into trust
  • Read and send the human signals that survive an AI-saturated workplace
  • Turn skepticism in the room into buy-in that outlasts the talk

How is this keynote different from other trust and AI keynotes?

It’s built on a full book. The Signal Gap: How to Boost Believability and Influence in the Age of Doubt (Ideapress, distributed by Simon & Schuster) is endorsed by Robert Cialdini, Daniel H. Pink, Dorie Clark, Tasha Eurich, and more so the keynote comes from a larger body of work and doesn’t stand alone.

It’s backed by original research. Henna’s national Social Muscle Atrophy study gives audiences numbers from their own workplaces, alongside the latest trust data from Edelman and others.

It comes from the field. Before speaking full time, Henna spent three years in Big 4 public accounting and fourteen years as a top-producing executive recruiter, watching careers rise or stall on believability rather than raw competence. Credibility gets you in the room; believability decides whether anything lands once you’re in it.

Good Awkward reader testimonials

Henna scored the highest of all our content! Feedback described her session as actionable, amazing, awesome, excellent, fantastic, great, high‑energy, positive, relatable, and full of strong takeaways.

The only constructive feedback was for us, coming from two attendees who expressed disappointment for those who had to miss her keynote, encouraging us not to schedule the keynote on the final day when some participants need to leave early. It was really a positive reflection of how impactful Henna’s session was!
